Horizon International Schools

Remarkably, of the 2.2 million evangelical churches world-wide, approximately 70% - 80% are being led by men and women who have little to no theological training. In addition, 60% of the unreached people in the world live in countries closed to missionaries from North America.

The mission of Horizon International Schools (HIS) is to prepare men and women around the world, in their own language and culture, for effective ministry.

Whether the issue is financial, geographical, or ideological, the result is the same - hundreds of thousands of church leaders do not have access to local, ministry training in their own language which addresses the uniqueness and needs of the church within their own culture. Horizon is committed to providing one solution to this significant need through distance education.

In what ways might we partner with the global church so as to most effectively reach the world for Christ?

Horizon International Schools is committed to providing one of many possible answers to this vital question through the production of biblically based, culturally relevant curricula, made accessible through the medium of distance learning. Distance learning provides church leaders access to the needed tools for training, while allowing the flexibility to implement this training to uniquely fit their specific life and ministry contexts.

God is continuing to use the technology of the day to communicate his word.

Horizon's courses will be offered via the internet, on CD Rom, and in book format based on the unique needs of the specific cultures. Each student will be responsible to spend at least 51% of his or her time personally interacting with the material, enabling the balance of the course time to be invested in face-to-face, guided discussion with teachers and facilitators.
